November 2005 Quiz Night

Thanks to some good support from some of our teams (not all sadly) the event was very successfull and raised Approximately £300. The money raised will cover the cost of referee courses for 13 new referees, excellent news for the club. Well done to Claire, Vanessa, Brenda & Andrew for organising & running the event. Also a big thank you to our two quiz masters Joan & Anne. Well done to the Seniors team whom supported the event very well by having two and a half teams at the event.

2005 Funday

Wigmore Youth held its fourth annual Funday on Saturday 9 July 2005 at Lloyd’s Sports and Social Club. The weather was excellent, and all involved had a thoroughly enjoyable day. This year was the best turnout, with 5 age groups participating. The Under 6s played Thamesview Youth, the Under 7s played Rainham Eagles, the Under 8s were up against Rainham Kenilworth Athletic, the Under 9s played Rainham 84 and the Under 10s faced Rainham Eagles. The afternoon is all about fun, so there were no losers, with all boys receiving medals for their participation.

There were several side stalls, including a raffle which boasted 28 prizes. A list of the prizes and winners is attached.

The sponge attack again proved to be popular, and given how hot it was on the day, those managers in the stocks were relieved from the heat with an absolute soaking from their own players.

Other stalls included an ice cream van, tombola, coconut shy, darts game, bouncy castle, BBQ, face/hair painting, sweets stall, and a penalty shoot out.

The day was a huge success in raising much needed funds, which will be spent primarily on coaching courses for managers and assistants.
