Wigmore dominated the opening session with chance after chance being created with good passing moves. 2 strikes from in form Morgan Ashenden and a penalty from Edward Grant gave Wigmore a 3 – 0 first half lead. The second half was tighter and Cliffe Royals began to threaten. However, Ben Reeves in defence and Reece Kember in goal were able to deal with the pressure and eventually released the attackers who finished the game off with a fine goal from man of the match Jack Bryant.
It is very pleasing to see the improvement all the boys have made.
This match saw Wigmore play some of the best football of the season so far. The ball stayed in the Cliffe Royals half virtually the whole game. Goalkeeper Ryan Jinman managed a clean sheet for which he praised his defender Joseph Knaust who had a very solid game.
Well worked goals from Branden Walsh, James Perrier and a brace for man of the match Ben Silvester sealed a very convincing win.
We made a few changes to the line up which really paid off.
