Wigmore started very positively in the first half. They immediately put the Fulston defence under pressure with some fine play through the middle. Morgan Ashenden opened the scoring with some determined play in the Fulston box. Shortly after Jack Bryant showed great determination to charge down a Fulston clearance, gather the ball and make a fine cross into the area for Morgan Ashenden to finish for his second.
Confidence began to run through the team and before half time some delightful passing ended up with Ronan Luckhurst who buried the shot for his first goal of the season.
The second half began much the same with Wigmore dominating the midfield. Shortly after the re-start Ronan Luckhurst found himself with the ball in the box and tucked away his second of the game. A few tired Wigmore legs allowed Fulston the chance to break. Their striker hit a good low shot which was superbly saved by Reece Kember but the rebound was subsequently tucked away. Wigmore went on to seal victory with 2 more goals from Morgan Ashenden who moves on to 11 for the season.
The hard work at training is really beginning to pay off.
Fulston start the game with an attacking formation. Wigmore defenders Joseph Knaust and Ross Wilkins find themselves under early pressure from 2 and sometimes 3 attackers. Wigmore miss a few early chances but then come to terms with the Fulston line up and begin to pass the ball around. The scoring is then opened by James Perrier who finishes from close range and is followed with strikes before half time from Branden Walsh and emerging goal scorer Ben Silvester.
The second half see’s Ben Silvester and Joseph Knaust bravely play on through injury. Branden Walsh receives a long through ball from Ross Wilkins which he burries past the keeper for his second goal. A well worked corner routine results in Ross Wilkins powering a shot into the top corner from the edge of the box to seal a convincing home win.
The boys are all enjoying that winning feeling.
