Despite awful conditions both sides managed to produce some good passing football in the first half. The deadlock was broken when Morgan Ashenden burst into the Rovers box and fired home with a low drive. Rovers aided by the strong following wind continued to pressurise but found Wigmore keeper Reece Kember in sparkling form.
The conditions benefited Wigmore in the second half and they began to dominate. Morgan Ashenden scored his 2nd and 3rd thanks to assists from playmaker Daniel Baird, taking him on to 16 for the season.
Several near misses followed including an in swinging corner that Ronan Luckhurst glanced inches wide.
Wigmore sealed a 5-0 away win with late close range strikes from Ronan Luckhurst and Edward Grant.
The early exchanges were dominated by solid defending with both keepers needing to be on their toes. Wigmore soon began to create chances on the break and after 10 minutes took the lead through fox in the box James Perrier.
Just before the break a training ground routine saw a corner pulled out to Ross Wilkins on the edge of the box who controlled and buried a fierce drive into the far corner.
With the wind at their backs Rovers began the 2 nd half very well. Man of the match Joseph Knaust made some outstanding tackles to keep Rovers at bay but with 5 minutes remaining Rovers reduced the deficit. A free kick from the edge of the box was curled precisely into the top corner giving keeper Ryan Jinman no chance.
Wigmore sealed the victory with a late break which fell at the feet of Branden Walsh who blasted home from very close range.
