Sunday 5 th February 2006 Sheernes East v Wigmore Youth

Game 1: Sheerness East 1 – Wigmore Youth 1

Wigmore came out the stronger side and immediately began to create goal scoring chances. They constantly looked dangerous breaking forward with some decisive through balls.

With 5 minutes on the clock midfielder Ross Wilkins broke down the left wing, cut into the box and blasted his shot past the keeper into the roof of the net.

Sheerness began to play better football and exerted some pressure on the Wigmore back line. They fired several dangerous looking corners into the box and nearly drew level but saw a goal bound header superbly saved by keeper Reece Kember.

Sheerness eventually unlocked the Wigmore defence with another curling corner kick which was headed into the net.

Both teams had further good chances and Wigmore have man of the match Daniel Baird to thank for keeping the scores level.

Game 2: Sheerness East 0 – Wigmore Youth 0

Both teams contributed in providing a very entertaining goalless draw.

Wigmore midfielder Branden Walsh covered every inch of the pitch and thoroughly deserved his man of the match award.

Both sides defended gallantly and managed to give good protection to their keepers.

Wigmore last man Ben Reeves made several fantastic tackles to deny the dangerous Sheerness attack any clear chances.

0-0 was a fair score line, but both teams went away knowing the 3 points were there for the taking.
