Both teams braved the freezing conditions to provide the spectators with a highly energetic end to end first half. Neither side were able to break the deadlock despite plenty of goalmouth action.
Colts kicked off the second half and began to look the more dangerous side. 2 minutes into the half a through ball found their striker who finished past diving keeper Ryan Jinman. 5 minutes later the Wiggies defence failed to clear the ball and a curling shot swirled in the wind and found the back of the net.
As the final whistle approached the Wigmore attackers pushed forward but were unable to reduce the defecit giving Cliffe Woods the 2-0 victory.
The second game saw Wigmore produce a very convincing performance.
It was a joy to watch the passing and movement of the Wigmore strikers as they continuously threatened the Colts back line.
The deadlock was broken when midfielder Ross Wilkins broke into the box to finish neatly past the advancing keeper. They doubled their advantage when the same player
Fired home from the edge of the box.
The second half saw striker James Perrier net a brace of goals thanks to great build up play from Jack Bryant and Daniel Baird. Colts never let their heads go down and continued to look dangerous but the Wigmore defence held firm to secure the 4-0 home win.
